How we did it:
When it comes to laying cobbles the challenge is in the careful positioning of each sett to achieve an even, neat finish. Before we could tackle that, however, we had to excavate the driveway, which measured 150 square metres, down to an appropriate depth to accommodate the maximum height of the granite setts.
We removed all the spoil from the site and ensured we had a level base to work on with a firm bedding layer.
Our practiced paving team got to work neatly laying the lozenge-shaped reclaimed cobbles, taking care with the cambers to facilitate efficient drainage, and taking into account the juxta-positioning of setts of different hues.
Once the setts and flagstones were all in place, everything was grouted in with a dark grout to set off the natural stone colours.
